Peer Review Process

The Journal of Accounting, Management and Governance (JAMG) adopts in its editorial process the anonymous double-blind peer review.

The articles submitted are initially pre-assessed by the editorial team at the desk review stage, at which time it is observed the originality, contribution, relevance, thematic validity, overall structure, compliance with editorial policies and guidelines for authors. Failure to meet any of these criteria results in the rejection and archiving of the article. The average time for this first decision is approximately 15 days.

If it is positively evaluated in the previous step, the article will be forwarded to two external reviewers with doctoral degrees and experience in the topic of the submitted text. If there is divergence in the evaluations, a third reviewer will be designated, and so on until there is a final opinion. Authors who have already published in the journal may be invited to give their opinion. This phase is intended to stimulate a constructive dialogue between evaluators and authors, aiming at improving the quality of the text until its final version for publication. The number of times a text is returned to the authors does not mean low quality, but a stimulus for improvement.

The editor responsible for the evaluation process will notify the author of the "acceptance without changes", "mandatory corrections" (with or without a new round of reviewers' analysis) or "rejection" and archiving of the article.

In cases of "required corrections", the author will have 30 days to send to CGG the revised article and the response letter commenting on the changes made. The Editor in charge of the evaluation process will forward to the reviewers, when necessary, the new version of the manuscript and the document with comments and/or justifications in order to verify whether the revised text met the requirements and inform if the article can be accepted, rejected or still needs modifications.

In the event that the final evaluation of the manuscript is "rejected", the author will be notified of the reason for rejection and the manuscript will be archived.

CGG may reject articles that have significantly similar content (plagiarism) with other works in any part of the editorial process where it is identified.

The average time from manuscript submission to acceptance after reviews is 215 days and from acceptance of the original to publication is approximately 95 days.
